Mailer and shipping boxes built for the last mile

Corrugated mailers, subscription boxes and RSC shipping boxes, printed inside and out, supplied flat and sized to the centimetre so you stop paying to ship air. Order from 300 pcs. This is a volume line with a moderate margin — it works when the box carries your brand and is right-sized to the product.

Range

Two structures, one honest conversation about margin

Mailers and RSC boxes are the cheapest structures we make and the ones customers reorder most often. We would rather tell you where the unit price stops being the point — it is usually the moment the box carries your own artwork inside.

Corrugated mailer box

A self-locking or tear-strip box, printed inside and out, supplied flat. It is the highest-repurchase line we make: e-commerce brands reorder it every few weeks, so we hold their specification stable between runs.

Subscription & e-commerce boxInside print

Subscription & e-commerce box

A litho-laminated box for brands that treat the packaging as part of the product. Full-colour inside printing, a printed insert card and a size that matches the item — the three things that make a customer photograph the box.

  • MOQ1,000 pcs
  • Indicative @1,000 pcs$0.42 – 0.68
  • PrintLitho-laminated, inside & outside
  • Best forSubscription, beauty, DTC
Tear-strip mailer boxTamper-evident

Tear-strip mailer box

The same corrugated mailer with a perforated strip cut into the die, so the box opens in a single pull and cannot be closed again invisibly. Marketplaces and returns-heavy categories ask for it, and it needs its own die — which is why it starts at 300 pcs.

  • MOQ300 pcs
  • Indicative @300 pcs$0.95 – 1.45
  • OpeningPerforated tear strip
  • Best forSubscription, marketplace, returns
RSC shipping boxLanded cost

RSC shipping box

The cheapest structure in this range and the least glamorous: a regular slotted container right-sized to your product and your pallet, because empty volume is a dimensional-weight charge on every parcel. Quoted on size and flute, with FBA and 3PL labelling as its own line.

  • MOQ1,000 pcs
  • Indicative @3,000 pcs$0.30 – 0.48
  • BoardSingle or double wall
  • Best forMarketplace, 3PL, bulk despatch
Folding carton / retail cartonRetail shelf

Folding carton / retail carton

A cardstock carton with no flute in it — straight tuck, sleeve or tray and lid, with window and hang-tab options. It is a shelf structure rather than a shipping one, and the most price-compressed category we make, so it is worth buying as part of a wider packaging programme.

  • MOQ500 pcs
  • Indicative @1,000 pcs$0.42 – 0.68
  • FormatTuck, sleeve, tray & lid

Board choice

E-flute or B-flute: thin and printed, or thick and strong

E-flute is the thinner profile. It folds cleanly, takes print with a smoother surface and keeps the parcel light, which is why printed mailers and subscription boxes are almost always built on it.

B-flute is the heavier profile, used where the box itself has to survive a sorting belt with very little inside it — shipping boxes, multi-item orders, anything that gets stacked. It costs more per box and takes more container volume, so we recommend it where the product needs it rather than by default.

  • E-flute: printed mailers, subscription boxes, apparel, beauty
  • B-flute: shipping boxes, heavier items, stacked pallets
  • Single-wall as standard; double-wall quoted where a carton travels alone
  • Board grade chosen against what you ship, not against how the box looks

Opening

Self-locking tuck or tear strip: the customer's first ten seconds

A self-locking tuck box closes without tape and opens without a knife. It is the cheaper option and the better one for anything a customer opens on a table rather than on a doorstep — a subscription box, a gift, a repeat order.

A tear strip gives you a tamper-evident opening: the strip comes away in one pull and the box cannot be closed again invisibly. Marketplaces and returns-heavy categories usually ask for it. It needs a dedicated die, which is why the tear-strip mailer starts at 300 pcs rather than 200.

  • Self-locking tuck: no tape, no knife, lowest unit cost
  • Tear strip: tamper-evident, single-pull opening
  • Inside and outside printing on both formats
  • Foil, spot UV and matt or gloss varnish on the printed surface

Shipping

RSC boxes and the freight you stop paying for

An RSC — a regular slotted container — is the cheapest box in this range and the least glamorous: it is the box that gets your order to a fulfilment centre intact. We right-size it to your product and your pallet, because a box that is 2cm too tall across 5,000 units is a dimensional-weight charge every month.

Right-sizing is where the saving sits. Carriers bill dimensional weight, so removing empty volume is usually worth more than a few cents negotiated off the unit price, and because mailers ship and store flat the inbound freight volume is a fraction of what assembled boxes would cost you.

  • Right-sized RSC and mailer dimensions against your product and pallet footprint
  • Barcodes, FNSKU labels and carton marking for marketplace and 3PL receiving
  • Flat-packed supply: inbound volume is a fraction of assembled boxes
  • Delivery to Amazon FBA, a 3PL warehouse or your own facility
  • Photo and video updates through the production run

The honest position

This is a volume line, not a margin line

We would rather say that at the top of the page than imply a mailer carries the margin of a rigid gift box. It does not. What it does carry is repurchase frequency and freight efficiency, and those are worth planning around.

Buying the cheapest unbranded mailer

  • ×Unit price is the only variable you can win on — and someone will always quote lower
  • ×Every supplier's plain mailer looks the same, so the box does nothing for the brand
  • ×No help with right-sizing, so dimensional weight quietly eats the saving
  • ×Nothing inside the box carries your brand, so the customer remembers the courier

A branded, right-sized mailer from us

  • Inside printing the customer sees first — the reason a branded mailer gets reordered
  • One size recommendation based on your product and pallet, not on a stock grid
  • Flat-packed freight and a held specification, so reorders skip re-approval
  • Board, print, tear strip and packing as separate lines you can trade against each other

Cost drivers

What actually moves the unit price

If two quotes for the same size mailer come back 30% apart, it is nearly always one of these seven variables. Ask for them as separate lines and you can decide where the money goes.

Cost driverEffect on unit priceWhat it means
QuantityLargest single driverThe mailer ladder falls from $0.95 – 1.45 at 300 pcs to $0.22 – 0.35 at 5,000+.
Flute gradeModerate increaseB-flute board costs more and takes more container volume than E-flute.
Print methodModerate to largeOne or two colours of flexo is the cheapest route; litho lamination costs more and lifts the MOQ to 1,000 pcs.
Print coverage and sidesRises with areaInside printing is a separate pass, so it is priced on coverage rather than on colour count.
Tear stripSmall increaseIt needs a dedicated die, which is why the tear-strip mailer starts at 300 pcs.

Mailer box FAQ

Before you order an e-commerce box

The answers a supplier usually softens. This range is competitive, so the numbers matter more than the adjectives.

Is there any money in mailer boxes?
Be clear-eyed about it: mailers are the most competitive structure we make, the competitor count is high, and the unit margin is moderate rather than generous. What makes the line work is volume, very high repurchase and low freight volume, because the boxes ship flat. It becomes a good line rather than a cheap one the moment the box carries your own artwork inside. If you need margin per unit instead of margin per order, look at the rigid gift box or food-grade ranges.
What is the minimum order for a custom mailer box?
200–300 pcs factory-direct, and 300 pcs for the tear-strip version because it needs its own die. The industry norm elsewhere is 500 pcs for one or two colour flexo print, and 1,000 pcs for litho-laminated boxes, so a 300 pc start is a deliberate choice: it lets you test a size and an inside print before you commit to a full pallet.
E-flute or B-flute — which should I order?
It depends on what is inside and how the box travels. E-flute is the thinner profile: it folds cleanly, prints with a smoother surface and keeps the parcel light, which is why printed mailers and subscription boxes are built on it. B-flute is the heavier profile, for boxes that have to survive a sorting belt with almost nothing inside or that get stacked — shipping boxes and multi-item orders. Send us the product weight and the packing method and we will recommend rather than upsell.
How does right-sizing actually cut my cost?
Carriers bill dimensional weight, so empty volume in the box is a charge you pay on every shipment. Taking 2cm of height out of a mailer across thousands of units usually saves more than anything you can negotiate off the unit price, and it reduces pallet footprint on the inbound leg at the same time. We ask for the product dimensions and your packing method before quoting, then show both the current size and a right-sized version.
Can the box be printed inside and out?
Yes, and on e-commerce packaging the inside print is what the customer actually sees when the box opens. It is a separate pass through the press, so it is quoted on coverage — a single colour over the whole interior costs more than a small logo on the base. Inside printing is also the cheapest way to make a mailer feel like a brand rather than a parcel.
Can you deliver to Amazon FBA or my 3PL?
Yes. We prepare the shipment for the destination: right-sized cartons with the fill you ask for, barcode and FNSKU labelling, carton marking and a packing list that matches what the warehouse expects to receive. Delivery can go to FBA, a 3PL or your own facility, and the freight — sea, air or express — is quoted as its own line so you can see the landed cost rather than just the ex-works price.
