This is not a customer's box. It is CW Packing's own configuration: a matte navy magnetic shell with a brushed-silver foil band stamped around the lid edge, and our own mark printed on it — the sample we photograph because what it shows is exactly how your artwork would be printed and foiled. The shell sits on the magnetic band we publish, indicative $1.50–2.30/pc at 500 pcs; foil coverage, the insert and the matching paper bag shown with it are each quoted as their own line.
Overview
The shell is a standard magnetic rigid box — a turned greyboard base tray and a turned lid, wrapped edge to edge in a matte-laminated navy paper, with magnets recessed inside the board so the lid pulls shut with no visible closure. The brushed metal edge is foil, not a metal strip glued on: silver foil is stamped around the lid skirt in register with the wrap, so the band follows the lid edge exactly, turns the corners with the paper, and takes a brushed, low-glare metallic finish rather than a mirror one. Anything stamped has to be in the die, which is why the band width, the corner radius and the registration against the print are all settled before a sample is made.
We photograph our own box because it is the most honest reference we can put in front of a buyer: nothing on it is borrowed from someone else's programme, and nothing on it is a finish we could not run on yours. Two things to be clear about before you brief it. On a dark matte surface, handling marks show, so the wrap is laminated — and a brushed foil band picks up finger oils more readily than a bright mirror foil, which matters on a box that will be stacked and handled in retail. And foil is priced by stamped area, so a full-perimeter band is a larger line item than a single mark; it is quoted alongside the shell rather than folded into the unit price. If the budget is tight, the same shell with one small foil mark and no band costs less and looks deliberate in its own way.

Variants
The photograph shows our box with the paper bag it is kept with: a laminated carrier in the same navy with the same brushed-silver foil mark. It is a different structure with its own material, handle and packing, so it is priced on the paper bag range and quoted as its own line — ask for the two together and you get one freight quote for the set.
A full-perimeter band around the lid skirt, a front-face band only, or a single hairline rule along the lid join. Coverage is stamped area, so this is the fastest way to move the finishing line up or down without changing the box.
Brushed silver is our house sample; gold, rose gold, copper, black and holographic foils are all available on the same band. A brushed finish reads quiet and matte against a dark wrap; a bright mirror foil reads louder on identical artwork.
The box in the photograph is magnetic. The same exterior with a friction-fit lid and base sits on the lower band at $1.20–1.80/pc at 500 pcs, with the foil quoted as its own line either way — the honest saving if the closing snap is not what you are buying.
Both are laminated surfaces that protect a dark wrap from handling marks. Soft-touch has a deeper, velvet-matte hand and costs a little more per unit; matte is marginally more forgiving of fingerprints on a box handled every day.
Folded paper tray as standard, or a die-cut EVA foam or velvet-wrapped tray in the same navy or a contrast tone. Interior printing is a separate press pass.
Materials
A rigid box is a greyboard core plus a wrap, and the metal in this one is a foil rather than a component. Those three facts explain almost every question the box raises about cost.

Best for
A dark navy shell with a brushed metal edge reads as hardware rather than as printing, which suits a heavy glass bottle or a jar and photographs without glare.
A brushed metallic band gives a box the weight and coolness of a metal case without a metal component to dent. Small, high-value contents justify the finishing spend.
The box-and-bag set is one of the most common shapes a corporate gift programme takes: one presentation box, one carrier, one repeated annual order.
A consistent house colourway lets a brand drop a seasonal product into an existing box with only the insert changed.
The format survives courier transit and is reused as a drawer organiser, so the brand stays in the house after the product is gone.
Sizing
Rigid boxes are made to your product, which means the size you send is the size you get — and on a dark box with a metal band, a few millimetres either way changes both the freight bill and how the finishing reads.
