An Easter box for spring shelves and confectionery gifting

A rigid gift box in a spring palette — pastel wrap, a foil or debossed motif, and an optional egg-shaped or square window so the contents sell themselves. Decoration is quoted line by line on the $1.50–2.30 band at 500 pcs.

Overview

About this Easter gift box

Spring gifting is a softer brief than December, and the box usually carries it rather than the product. The palettes that work are pale and low-contrast — mint, blush, butter yellow, powder blue — often on an uncoated or lightly textured wrap so the surface stays matte under shop lighting. Two decoration routes dominate: a debossed or embossed botanical motif on a plain wrap, which reads as handmade and avoids colour entirely, or a foiled mark in soft gold, rose gold or silver on a pastel flood. A die-cut window is the third, and it is what confectionery and bakery brands choose, because the contents are the product shot.

Because the holiday moves on the calendar each year, plan from your retail month and not from a date: production is 12–18 days after sample approval and sea freight to the US or Europe runs 30–40 days, so a March shelf normally means artwork approved by November, and a market that sells in April has one more month. Festive multi-colour decoration is set up per colour and per artwork, so the run starts at 500 pcs per design and the set-up is amortised across it — the more you order, the lower the unit price. One cost note before you specify a window: the aperture needs its own cutting die and a film application step, both quoted as separate lines, and it changes how the insert has to be built so the product sits at the aperture rather than behind it.

  • Rigid magnetic or lid-and-base shell, built to your product — no stock dies
  • Pastel floods, botanical emboss or deboss, and soft-metal foils for spring briefs
  • Die-cut window option for confectionery and gift sets, quoted as its own line
  • Festive minimum 500 pcs per design; the structure tooling is shared with other seasons
  • Inserts cut to your contents: foam, velvet-wrapped tray or folded paper platform

Variants

Configurations we build most often

Debossed botanical wrap

A leaf, blossom or egg motif pressed into a plain pastel or uncoated wrap. No foil die, no colour work — usually the least expensive premium-looking spring box.

Soft-metal foil mark

Rose gold, soft gold or silver on a pale flood. One die, one pass, and the contrast between matte wrap and metal does the work.

Confectionery window box

An aperture with film so eggs, chocolates or a small bake are visible unopened. Adds a cutting die, a film step and an insert change.

Nested tray set

A two-level insert for a mixed assortment — chocolate, a small candle, a card — with each cavity cut to the component so nothing shifts in transit.

Materials

Materials and board

OptionWhat it means
Uncoated pastel paperAbsorbs ink and holds a matte, hand-finished look that suits spring ranges; foil stamps cleanly on it.
Coated art paperSharper print and stronger colour if the artwork is illustrative. Combine with matte lamination to avoid glare in photographs.
Textured or linen-effect wrapThe surface most often paired with embossing or debossing, because the grain is part of the effect rather than a background to it.
Food-contact aware optionsIf the box touches confectionery directly, tell us at quoting stage. Where a specification requires food-contact compliance, ask for the current certificate for the exact board and coating rather than for the factory as a whole.

Best for

Where this format earns its keep

Confectionery and bakery gifting

Eggs, chocolates and spring bakes sell better when the box shows the contents, which is why window versions dominate this season.

Beauty and wellness spring sets

A pastel shell with a debossed mark and a foam tray holds a small set at a fixed height for photography and for retail counters.

Hotel, spa and hospitality

Quieter decoration and a lid-and-base structure rather than a magnet, where the box is opened once and recycled.

Corporate spring gifting

A foil mark on one artwork, produced once and shipped to a list — the same pattern as a December programme, one quarter earlier.

Sizing

Sizes, depth and window clearance

DimensionGuidance
Interior clearance3–5mm around a rigid product; 5–8mm on foam so the tray compresses and the contents do not rattle.
Window positionThe aperture has to line up with the product, so set the insert from the window rather than the other way round.
DepthDepth is board and freight. A box 10mm deeper than it needs to be is paid for on every unit and in every carton.
Assembled or flatSpring runs are often smaller than December ones; ask for a foldable shell if you will be storing stock rather than shipping it straight out.

FAQ

Before you order an Easter gift box

Spring timing, windows and set-up, answered up front.

The date moves every year — how do we plan the order?
Plan from the month the goods have to be on the shelf, not from a date. Production is 12–18 days after sample approval, samples take 3–5 days plus 1–3 days by courier, and sea freight to the US or Europe runs 30–40 days, so a March shelf normally means artwork approved by November and an April shelf gives you one more month. Air freight (5–8 days in transit) buys roughly two months of slack. Tell us the retail month and we will give you a dated plan with the cut-offs written down.
Can we use one set-up for several spring artwork variants?
You can share the structure, not the artwork. One box size means one cutting die, one board specification and one wrapping set-up, which is the expensive tooling. Each variant — a pastel flood, a debossed motif, a foiled mark — still needs its own print set-up, emboss die or foil die, and each is quoted as its own line. If you want four spring variants, build them on one box size: that is the decision that keeps the tooling cost down to a single payment.
Is a window worth the extra cost?
It depends on what is inside. Where the contents are the selling image — eggs, chocolates, a small bake — a window converts the box into a display and usually pays for itself. Where the contents are unglamorous, a debossed or foiled wrap is the better spend. A window adds a cutting die and a film application step and forces the insert to be set from the aperture, so it is quoted as its own line and priced after we see the product.
Why is the minimum 500 pcs on a festive box?
Festive decoration is set up per colour and per artwork, and dies — print, foil, emboss, window — are one-off tooling. A plain magnetic box can start from 100 pcs and the entry level for lighter structures elsewhere on this site is 300 pcs, but a festive run needs that set-up spread across a run to keep the unit price sensible. The set-up is the same whether you order 500 or 5,000, so the larger order carries the lower unit price.
